The head of Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships is under fire from two congressmembers for his criticism of Pope Benedict XVI’s absurd remark that condoms are aiding and abetting the spread of AIDS in Africa. Harry Knox, who also serves as director of religion and faith programs for the Human Rights Campaign, has been called anti-Catholic because he said that the pontiff was “hurting people in the name of Jesus.”

Gay Indians get their own Valentine cards

NEW DELHI — Gay Indians can browse for their own Valentine's Day cards for the first time, with the country's largest card chain rolling out a small selection this year after a historic court ruling.

The Archies card company said Monday it had decided to bring out the speciality cards after the High Court last year decriminalised homosexuality.

"We have been toying with this idea for a while and then came the court judgement in which it was clearly said that it's legal to be gay," Archies company spokesman Yohan Arya told AFP.
